Tour Highlights
Toba Aquarium
There are more species in this aquarium than anywhere else in Japan.
The aquarium in Japan is the only place to witness the Dugong, rumored to be the model of the mermaid legend.
There are animal shows featuring a variety of species, including walruses and sea lions, where you can witness their beautiful acts.
There are two gift stores where you may purchase items featuring many of the animals you see at Toba Aquarium as gifts or mementos.
Acquire a few of them, and they will help you recall the memories you create there.
Ise Grand Shrine
This temple, which combines the beauty of nature, history, and architecture, is the most revered in all of Japan. Since ancient times, billions of people have prayed for them to find peace.
There are 125 shrines surrounding Ise Grand Shrine.
The two largest and most significant shrines are Naiku and Geku, which are devoted to Amaterasu-Omikami (the Imperial family deity) and Toyo'uke-no-Omikami (a supplier of sacred food to Amaterasu-Omikami), respectively.
Sengukan
Sengukan is a museum that presents Shikinen-Sengu, a shrine celebration that involves rebuilding and moving buildings every 20 years.
The museum has a variety of facts on display that will teach you about the operation of the event.
Yokocho Okage
1993 saw the birth of Okage-Yokocho next to Ise Grand Shrine in Naiku. Along the Iseji Route, buildings from the Edo and Meiji periods have been moved or rebuilt so that you can experience the shrine street atmosphere and discover Ise traditional culture.
There are lots of stores and eateries with Ise cuisine. One option to properly experience Yokocho is to dine around Okage-Yokocho.
